England vs West Indies: Salt’s Ton Helped England Stay in the Series

In the 3rd T20I of England vs WI, England won the toss and opted to bowl first. WI were confident as they were leading in the series 2-0. Here’s the vicious powerhitting of the West Indies on display. Following a couple of low scores and a cheap loss in their opening matches, Pooran was sacked. In the powerplay, Shai Hope was the one who took the initiative. After he established the mood, Pooran got serious. Powell and Rutherford made helpful contributions as well. Despite Buttler’s best efforts, he was unable to halt Pooran and company. A huge goal, and the series is over if England loses. West Indies had their fifth-highest total ever in this format, and the highest total ever in T20Is at this venue.

In the chase, Butler and Philip Salt kept hitting hard WI and the duo shared 100+ partnership. Buttler and Salt set it up. Jacks collapsed quickly, but Salt persisted. Although Brook’s incredible cameo stole the game from the hosts, Livingstone also made a brief appearance. He just made sure Windies would have to wait for another game to have a chance with his 7-ball 31. With his tonnes, Salt never let the run-rate matter. Pooran and a few others had earlier made sure Windies could easily cross the 200-mark. 223 would never be simple. However, England has been able to sustain the series. England finally have the slice of luck that they desperately needed. That has meant they have tracked down 223.

We have seen a feast for runs. In the end, England proved to be sufficient to win. They gave up 222, but Salt led his team home with a tonne of scoring. England is presently behind 1-2 in the series. Although the Windies were in control, several runs were lost in the final few overs. That concludes the game. We hope to play another game with you soon.
