FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023: Germany Shines Against Morocco with a 6-0 Win

Being rated 72 in the FIFA rankings, Morocco is the lowest-ranked team in the competition and the first Arab country to compete in a Women’s World Cup.

Alexandra Popp scored twice in the first half of Germany’s encounter against Morocco throughout today’s match before Germany defeated Morocco 6-0 in their Group H opener.

Popp, who had to withdraw from the Euro 2022 final due to injury after the warmup, connected with Kathrin Hendrich’s precise pass to score her 63rd goal for her country.After a corner from Klara Buhl in the 39th minute, the Wolfsburg striker doubled the advantage. The superb Buhl then made it 3-0 less than a minute after the break.
