India vs Afghanistan, 2nd T20I: India Sealed the Series With 6-Wicket Win

In the 2nd T20I of the India vs Afghanistan series played at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore, India won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Afghan openers got out to a strong start, and Ravi Bishnoi’s early introduction was necessary to end the alliance. At the three-ball, Gulbadin Naib launched a counterattack right away. Afghanistan had a strong innings of 57, with five fours and four sixes, that put them in a strong position close to the midway point. But Axar came back and removed the all-round player in his final over. After that, things slowed down as the inexperienced hitters struggled to establish themselves. The visitors might have given up much sooner, but it took a last-minute surge from Mujeeb to bring them to this point. While a little pricey, Axar Patel had another great performance for India, and Bishnoi scored two vital wickets.

Arshdeep, who had gone wicketless in the opening spell, enhanced his record in death overs by finishing with 3/32. Even though they lost captain Rohit Sharma for a duck in the run chase, the hosts never gave up. Kohli hit a quick 29 before falling to Naveen-ul-Haq, showing excessive aggression and a few good slogs. On the other hand, Jaiswal remained active during his innings, constantly searching for the bold move. He reached a 27-ball fifty after attacking Mujeeb and Noor Ahmad. After defeating a seasoned fighter like Nabi for three straight sixes, spin basher Shivam Dube was at the other end and there was no going back.

The southpaw put up another strong showing, scoring fifty off of 22 balls and staying to see his team through to victory. Though Karim Janat, who came on, picked two in his first over to stall the end, the outcome was always certain. India opens up a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.
