Ireland vs Zimbabwe 2nd T20I: Ireland Levels the Series with 4-Wicket Win Over Zimbabwe

In the 2nd T20I of Ireland vs Zimbabwe played at Harare Sports Club, Harare, Ireland won the toss and opted to field. Batting first, Zimbabwe reached a total of 165/5 in 20 overs. Outstanding reversal from Zimbabwe from 78/5. Many thanks to these two for their partnership. Before, Kamunhukamwe appeared strong even though they were losing wickets at the other end. However, he was castled after attempting a slog sweep after three sixes. Zimbabwe was in trouble in the ninth over when Madande and Ryan Burl combined, but neither batter attempted anything spectacular and appeared to be focused on rotating strikes. Burl’s presence meant that Theo van Woerkom’s SLA was awarded just one over. However, Campher performed admirably as well as filling up the spinner’s overs. With one of the largest square boundaries in the world, the sluggish pitch and proficient cutters contribute to Zimbabwe’s strong score. Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava were the pick of the bowlers for Ireland, taking two wickets each.

In response, Ireland chased down the target in 19.4 overs, losing six wickets in the process. They lost two early wickets in Stirling and Balbirnie, who were removed during the powerplay, but after that, Tucker and Tector formed a useful combination. After Gwandu removed Tucker in the eighth over, Tector’s connection with Campher was significantly stronger. Together, they scored 66 runs for the fourth wicket before Brian Bennett removed Campher. Tector was also just short of a fifty by a few runs, but Dockrell and Adair fitted in a couple of powerful strokes to keep the scoreboard moving quickly. In the last over, Adair attempted the heroic shot but was unable to clear long-on. After being dropped a few balls later, Dockrell made sure to score the game-winning runs to maintain the series alive.

This win helped Ireland level the series 1-1. The decider will be played on Sunday, December 10. Stay tuned with us for more Ireland vs Zimbabwe updates, cricket live score, and more!
